Melanie was introduced to Bowen Therapy by her step mother in the late 1990’s who owned and managed 2 clinics during her career as a Bowen Therapist. Melanie herself first underwent her Bowen Therapy training in 2004 after seeing what a great sense of achievement it brought to her stepmother to be able to help so many people with issues that would impede their day to day life. Melanie worked part time as Bowen Therapist in a Gold Coast Clinic in the mid 2000’s alongside her full-time job. Melanie enjoyed an extensive career in retail management for large department store from 2000-2010. During this time, she was responsible for mentoring and building leaders and supervisors across multiple stores.
In 2010 she started a family and spent the next 4 years travelling across Queensland with her partner and children for her partner’s work opportunities. This allowed for the opportunity to be a full-time mother without having to return to work but also several life experiences that brought with it lessons on making new friends and being part of a new community.
Joining the Beerwah Community
2016 landed Melanie and her family in Beerwah and they have called it home ever since. In 2017 she commenced at The Healthy Guru in Beerwah to support Sunshine Coast Hinterland residents to achieve their health and well being goals. With a newfound excitement for her old passion she enrolled in a Diploma of Specialised Bowen Therapy which she completed in August 2019. The Diploma of Specialised Bowen Therapy is the highest Government Accredited certification of Bowen Therapy within Australia.
Melanie’s training in the Usui Reiki Method has helped to add an extra element to her clinic manner providing a safe, supported, high energy space for her clients to heal. Adding Reiki Master Teacher to her qualifications in 2020 she will now be offering Sunshine Coast residents who are interested in pursuing their own Reiki journey the ability to train with her.
Melanie is most passionate about helping those people who are affected directly or indirectly with mental health issues such as stress and anxiety, overwhelm, sleep issues and chronic conditions.
